Solon has 2,037 residents spread over 1.28 square miles, which is the size where a weekly route works well. Enough homes to justify a regular visit day, few enough that the day does not slip. Density runs about 1,587 people per square mile, so most yards are a normal residential lot, usually fenced, usually walkable in a few minutes if you actually cover it twice. The Cedar Rapids crew is about 13.7 miles out, close enough that Solon sits on an established weekly route.
A typical Solon yard takes one grid pass and then a second from the other direction, which is what catches the ones that blend into the grass. Gates are latched behind us and you get a text when we are clear.
Solon homes can book weekly, twice-a-week, bi-weekly or a one-time cleanup, and the same crew covers commercial properties in Johnson County: HOAs, apartment grounds and any business with a pet-friendly patch of grass.
The Solon figures above come from Wikidata (Q1925328), and the 13.7 miles is straight-line distance to our Cedar Rapids crew rather than a drive time.
